Academics
The basic curriculum at all grade levels includes reading, mathematics,
English, science, and social studies. Students have technology training
in the Computer Lab once a week. Thirty Power Macintosh Computers
allow
each child to access a variety of programs and the Internet from each workstation.
The school also has rolling technology carts available for use throughout
the building which include Mac computers, printers, laser disk players,
and VCR's. Students also attend physical education classes, art,
and music. All curriculum areas address the New Jersey Core Content
Standards.
Woodrow Wilson continues to expose students to the newest curriculum materials,
while continually training our teachers to better meet the needs of our
students. Our teaching staff continues to attend in-service training
sessions throughout the year to acquire new skills in all curriculum areas.
A special partnerships existed between Woodrow Wilson School and Stevens
Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey. This partnership enabled
our teachers to create original web sites Rolling Thunder, A Whole Lot
of Shaken Going On, and Traveling on the Jet Stream. Mr. Maggio,
a sixth grade science teacher, was also selected to participate in workshops
at the NASA Goodard Space Flight Center in Maryland. His training
provides our students with the necessary resources and skills for tomorrow's
technologically advanced society.
