Midtown Community School
Vision Statement
The Midtown Community School will have a flexible educational
environment. The school shall adopt the community education concept
which encourages the use of this facility for people of all ages
for extended hours throughout the calendar year. Educational excellence
shall be achieved through the implementation of an innovative
curriculum that maximizes the unique design of the school. The
curriculum will include a quality instructional and cultural program,
which utilizes a variety of research based methods, materials
and state of the art technologies in order to meet the needs,
interests and abilities of the individual. The administrative
structure will encourage shared decision making by teachers; students
and parents based on collaboration, consensus and cooperation.
The Midtown Community School will foster lifelong learning, providing
education from early childhood through adulthood. The school is
intended to promote a love of learning through various programs
which meet the needs of the school population and the community
and allow for the development of a truly educated person.
The Midtown Community School will encourage a strong sense of
community with commitment beyond the school. There will be coordination
with community resources, school/business partnerships and outside
agencies. Multicultural and multi-ethnic needs will be addressed
by respecting individuality, promoting family involvement and
interaction, and developing strong interpersonal relationships.
A concerned administration and a caring staff will provide for
equity, fairness and inclusion of all participants. The curriculum
