My Dear Dancer

She wanted nothing more than to be a dancer

And to banish the existence of her cancer

She is looking in all the wrong places for answers

Her hair now placed inside her old photo books

No one comes near her; everyone just stands and looks

She is losing the twisted battle of life

Her heart is filled with nothing but pain and strife

No one understands what she feels

Heaps of endless wishes for her body to heal

Longing for nothing but a friend to grab her hand

But no one will go near her as long as she wears a hospital band

She realizes she’s different and there is nothing she can change

So she has nothing else but her sickness to blame

It’s a shame to know that millions of others are feeling the same

It’s ok now, one day they will all be free

Far away from all this evil debris

Why can’t anyone see

They are as normal as you and me

Don’t cry no more my dear dancer

You will soon dance where there is no such thing as cancer…
