All through your life
You’ve been taught to respect
Not heeding these words
Would make the world a total wreck
Respect your elders
For they have seen it all
Wise beyond their years
And they’ll pass it on when they fall
Respect the poor bum on the street
Notice the path his life he has taken
Sitting on the curb looking for money to get booze
Just understand, that for him it is hard to awaken
Respect your family for everything they’ve given
Whether it was food, money, or shelter
Be happy with what you have, it could be worse
It could be like a scene from “Helter Skelter”
But when it comes down to it
We have to respect ourselves
How do you intend to respect others?
If you can’t even respect yourself
