The halls began to empty with the sound of the bell.
Security stood at the door making sure nobody fell.
One by one they ran to each class.
There wasn’t any loitering, which allowed others to pass.
They entered the room and walked down their aisle.
There was no pushing or shoving, for they walked in single file.
The room grew still as the teacher spoke.
They listened respectfully without a chat or joke.
They sat up straight with opened books.
And they didn't pass any dirty looks.
These kids had style, these kids had class.
They studied their hearts out, for they aimed to pass.
They gave their teachers full attention.
They looked at their peers the same, need I mention.
They didn't judge one another by color or race.
In fact they welcomed each other with every new face.
These students held their chins up and never down.
They loved their reputation, even more their town.
It makes me happy to be apart of such a wonderful group.
I would hate to have to ever leave this little loop.
Yet 4 years passed by and those students are gone.
But more step forward and we pass the message on.
Never let your reputation be broken.
It is hard to get back, it is not a one way token.
Stand up tall and have pride for your school.
For we are the students and we make it rule.
