M. Bailey
(Home of the Eagles) Clubs & Activities
Choir & BandThe orchestra is directed by Mr. Oberwanowicz and our choir is directed by Mrs. Rost. Our choir and band are very fortunate to have such talented directors who spend many hours practicing with the students for the Holiday concert and the Spring concert. The
Computer Club at John M. Bailey School meets every
Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM. It is open to all 5th, 6th, and 7th grade
students under the direction of Mrs. Roseann Pona. The main objective
of the club is to work as a team and promote 'school spirit' with the
projects they create. During this time the members of the club create
signs, banners and other graphic projects for hallways, classrooms and
for the teachers. They also use this time to work on newsletters,
calendars, and surveys. Computer members are also learning how to
install software, troubleshootproblems in the computer lab and throughout
the school.
Peer
is a good place for our students to learn how to be leaders and not followers.
They also learn skills on how to be good listeners and work with different
people to figure out different problems. They learn to listen to people
and understand their feelings. Some activities they do during the
course of the year are to participate in "Helping Hands",
service projects, and going on an overnight camping trip to help them
learn more of their skills. Mrs.
Ann Marie Meyers is the moderator for 7th Grade Peer.
The
Chess Club is under the direction of Mr. Gary
Oberwanowicz. Congratulations for coming in second place in the city-wide tournament during the 2006 - 2007 school year.
Martin Stewart-

Our cheerleaders practice many hours under the direction of Lisa Bermudez,
our Bailey cheerleading coach for the 2007-2008 school year.
