Enriched
Curriculum
Through the collegial efforts
of the district wide directors, the school's curriculum was created. Students
employ and enhance the skills they learn in the Core Curriculum Content
Standards in classes such as accelerated math and science, art and social
studies, world language, environmental education, studio art, and instrumental
music theory and practice. In addition, the curriculum is enriched in principles
of technology (e.g. computer assisted drafting and laser and fiber optics),
experimental learning, lifetime sports, and outdoor education (e.g. overnight
camping, rappelling, hiking, orienteering, canoeing, golfing, New England
Maritime Tour, P.E.E.C.), interdisciplinary grade level performances (eg.
"Let's Take A Look At New Jersey", "Shh, We're Writing The Constitution"),
weekly Gifted Area Program courses (e.g. Investigating The Mathematical
& Artistic Concepts of Tesselations, Graphic Calculators, Create A
Miniature Art Museum, Poetry Plus, The Write Stuff & Have Passport
Will Travel, etc.)
