Third grade students at Woodrow Wilson School had
the wonderful opportunity to meet well-known author Michael
Uslan on March 1,” according to Dr. Catherine Quinn,
Principal. Michael Uslan read his book, “Chatterbox,” to
the 3rd grade students. His visit was sponsored by the
Guidance Department and coordinated by Mary Moloney, Director
of Student Personnel Services, Mary Ellen Cangiano, guidance
counselor of Woodrow Wilson School, and teacher Sandra
D’Agostino. The Guidance Department promotes themes
of diversity and literacy each school year.
Michael Uslan is the Executive
Producer of the Batman movie series. He won the Emmy
Award for his hit kids' TV
series, “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?” Michael
wrote and produced the holiday special, “Little Orphan
Annie’s Very Animated Christmas” and created
the cartoon series, “Dinosaucers.” He is a
member of The Advisory Board to The Discovery Channel Global
Education Fund, as well as a national lecturer and motivational
speaker. “Chatterbox” is his first book for
children.
“Promoting literacy is a top priority in the Bayonne
School District and author Michael Uslan’s visit
emphasized to our students that the gift of reading is
very special and why it is so important to read each and
every day,” according to Dr. Patricia L. McGeehan,
Superintendent of Schools.
