It is my distinct pleasure to inform you that you have been selected as a recipient of the 2004 Commissioner's Distinguished Teacher Candidate Awards. The awards annually recognize the 15 top graduates of teacher preparation programs administered by New Jersey colleges and universities. Your dossier has shown you to be an exceptionally qualified prospective teacher worthy of this honor.

William L. Librera, Ed.D., Commissioner of Education, will present a personal letter of recommendation and a certificate of recognition to you and your fellow recipients at the awards ceremony, scheduled for Monday, May 3,2004. In order that arrangements can be made for this event, please send back your RSVP form no later than Monday. April 19. 2004 to verify that you will be accept 2 prestigious award. As an award recipient, you may invite two guests to accompany you to the awards ceremony. The President and the Dean of Education of your college or university will also be invited to attend the program.

Please join us on Monday, May 3, 2004 to meet the other award recipients. It is important that you register upon arrival. All those in attendance are invited to a breakfast reception from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the first floor conference room of The Department of Education building located at 100 River View Plaza in Trenton, NJ. I have enclosed driving directions. The awards ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. At that time, you will be recognized for your achievements in student teaching.

Also enclosed is a Biographical Information form. This fofD1 will be used to release biographical information to the media for publication. It is important that you complete this fofD1 as expeditiously as possible. Please return the RSVP form and the Biographical Information form to me at the address displayed on the top of the form or fax it to (609) 292-3142, no later than Monday, April 19, 2004. I will use the information you provide to create your biographical introduction, and with some minor modifications, will be read as you accept your award from Commissioner Librera.
